Social bookmarking allows you to save your favorite links online. But, it goes much further than that! You can tag your favorites with keywords so that you can search your links list quickly. And, as the name infers, it is social. So, other people can see your favorites, and you can see theirs. That’s the important part- so let me explain further.
Let’s say that you are a third grade math teacher. And you save one of your favorite math links to delicious. Then you can look to see who else has saved the same website. By looking at others who have saved sites you like, you might find that they have also saved lots of OTHER sites you like! (Saves you bunches of time searching online!!)
You can also just do a search in delicious that will search through all links people have bookmarked.
Here’s how to get started:
First, watch this video. Three and a half minutes that will explain social bookmarking in a simple, easy-to-understand format.
Third, if you are ready to roll with your own social bookmarking account, set one up at https://secure.del.icio.us/register?noredir .
